Society for Human Resource Management
Welcome to the website of the New River Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. We are one of 500 chapters of national SHRM, the professional organization dedicated to serving the human resource professional, and advancing the human resource profession.
Our chapter was formed over 30 years ago and has grown to 108 members, achieving recognition as a Superior Merit Chapter for 2008 as well as Chapter Champion for 2008. We meet the third Thursday of each month.
The purpose of local chapters is to provide a local forum for personal and professional development, and to provide an opportunity to develop leadership skills, a local networking arena, and programming designed to support and inform members on subjects of interest to HR professionals.
